![]() It's a hoot to watch the opposing team scatter when you start firing a few of these babies into their ranks. ![]() You can also get them to stick on other players making them mobile suicide grenades. There's also a new weapon in the game - the Prox Launcher - which shoots proximity mines that stick to walls and explode when rival players get near. Did we mention the lighting effects? Oh, maybe that's because they're so impressive they burnt a hole in the part of our brain responsible for memory. Although there's only one arena to play in, the Inner Sanctum, there's a multitude of curved surfaces, clean textures, and plenty of glowing power-ups to play with. If you can believe it, the graphics in Team Arena look even better than in QIII: Arena. Because of this, the game requires a little more co-operation than Q3: Arena. And if you don't, you should read our preview. You probably already know that Team Arena is *gasp* a team-based game. The demo weighs in at a hefty 127MB, but we've been playing it for the past few hours, and we'll let you in on a little 's worth it. Oh, who gives a rat's ass.just make with the downloading and play the damn demo. ![]() While the word "exclusive" is pretty much useless when you talk about a medium like the Internet, remember where you saw it first. We're happy to be the first place on the Internet where you can download the Q3: TA stand alone demo (the full game will be an expansion pack and will require Quake III: Arena to play). Heck, we're giving it to you before the turkey's even cooked. Oh, who are we kidding?!? Quake III: Arena was one of the biggest games ever!!! Of course, as good as it was, we greedy gaming hogs just want more, more, more! And now id is going to give it to us this Christmas with Quake III: Team Arena.īut I know what you're saying: "I want to play it now!" Well consider id and IGNPC your collective Santa Claus then, because they gave us the demo and now we're giving it to you waaaaaay before Christmas.
